Auditions

March 31, 2007- We were very excited to hold open auditions for Matter Dance Company’s first full-length concert, Jump Start!

We had such great interest that we even scheduled a special audition for those who couldn’t make it on Saturday. We’re nice and flexible like that:)

On the BIG DAY we arrived at the space early, with coffee in-hand, ready for setup and the long day ahead.

We had such a great turnout that we barely had enough room for stretching and warm-ups, not to mention combination work!

The great news was that we saw a tremendous number of talented dancers.

Sadly, we didn’t have enough parts to cast them all. There’s always our next show, right?

It was such a busy/hectic/crazy process for us, that we needed to unwind after auditions and finalize casting over a nice, refreshing Tequila-based beverage.

Margaritas!

Hey girls! I saw you in the Marquette Alum Magazine and it’s good to see you’re still dancing after all the ACDFA trips! Let me know when your next show is, and I’ll try to make it.

Girls! I never read those magazines I receive from Marquette but I did so this time and what a nice surprise…that three of the ladies I admire the most while at Marquette are already doing something some dancers dream with their whole life. I got excited just to think about it. Sounds like old friends are coming back too since I saw Alexis in one of the pictures. I am really happy fro the three of you and I wish you simple THE BEST. Sadly to say I stopped dancing once I graduated in ‘05 (the salsa clubs here in Puerto Rico don’t count, of course), but seeing this have made me want to do it all over again. Keep it up!

  6. Hi,
Your dance company sounds wonderful! I am interested in auditioning, could you let me know when the next auditions will be held? Thanks!
